I was wandering around a department store today and I found myself on the aisle where they have coffee makers. This seemed like a logical location for hot cocoa makers, but I couldn't find any! I was surprised - after all, they had every style of coffee maker, espresso and cappuccino machines, even hot water kettles. But not one hot chocolate machine. I even checked the nearby aisles and nothing!

Truthfully, I don't understand. Coffee makers and tea kettles are sold year round, why not cocoa makers? Some of us love a delicious cup of hot chocolate no matter what the temperature is outside! I will admit, they did have several models of Keurig machines, and you can make hot cocoa in those. In fact, in the entire shelf of Keurig K-cups, there was one lone box of rich, dark chocolate cocoa K-cups amongst all the coffee flavors.

So if you really want to get a cocoa maker (and who doesn't?), where should you go to find the best selection and the best deals? Well, the world wide web of course! As I am sure you have already figured out, you can find almost anything on the Internet. But you do need to be careful. When it comes to buying an electrical appliance like a hot chocolate machine, you will be better off buying a new machine. You don't want to take chances with a used model. Who knows how it was treated - was it dropped or immersed in water? A new cocoa maker will still have the factory warranty so you will be protected if something is faulty.
